Yikes, I am a bit late posting this but I was keen to keep it up so I remember what I got up to in February.
By far the best thing about February in Berlin is the Berlinale Film Festival. Normally February is really dark, cold and snowy here so the glamour of film festival always offers welcome break from that. This year we were saved the rotten weather, but I still went along to try and spot some stars on the red carpet. We saw Audrey Tatou, Daniel Brühl and Juliette Binoche which was exciting, even if they were a rather European offering rather that anyone hugely Hollywood.
I took this shot of a line of satellite dishes whilst taking a wander around Kreuzberg. Our office just moved there and there’s so much I haven’t seen yet. A lot of the area is filled with 1960s appartment blocks which means it’s not so easy on the eye as other areas.
My final favourite this month is of this retro camera I found (but didn’t buy, hello austerity) at a big indoor junk yard near where I live. The flea markets and junk shops are one of the best things about Berlin. I feel like I need to do a whole post on them given how often I mention them.
